4Zn + 2I2
After:
2ZnI2
Total:
4Zn + 2I2 ----> 2ZnI2
Description:
In this experiment we measured and mixed zinc and iodine together in order to create a new substance, zinc iodide. Our measurements, when converted into moles, demonstrated the ratio of zinc to iodine before the reaction, and after, in our new substance. With this ratio we were able to create an accurate particle diagram and equation that correctly shows our new substance. The particle diagram shows the bonds between atoms before and after the reaction.

4Zn + 2I2 ----> 2ZnI2
